Establishment of the Varnish and Paint Enterprise Bucharest, supplier of the national motor vehicle, furniture and electronics industries.
1973-1974
Expanding of the productive capacities of the Varnish and Paint Enterprise by making operational the manufacturing capacities for synthetic resins, for paints destined for export and by setting up a factory for varnishes and nitrocellulose paints.
1976-1990
The Varnish and Paint Enterprise becomes the sole producer of epoxidic resins destined to the chemical, construction and electronic industry as well as the sole producer of varnishes for auto OEM (Original Equipment Manufactory). Also, it is the first producer of nonsaturated polyester resins destined to the construction sector.
1990
The Varnish and Paint Enterprise becomes a public limited company named Policolor S.A.
1992
Implementation of a program destined to re-technologize the Policolor company.

The shares of Policolor S. A. are listed at the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
1997
Conclusion of the privatization process of Policolor; The Romanian Investment Fund acquires the majority stock of Policolor therefore owning 29.2%; The Romanian Enterprise Fund owns 27.3%, the Societe Generale Fund – 11.3% and the Romanian Investment Company – 9.9%; The company benefits from important investments used to modernize the factories and the production capacities.
1997
The Romanian Society for Quality Assurance grants to Policolor the quality certificate at national level according to the standard SR EN ISO 9001/1995
1998
Policolor acquires the majority stock of Orgachim, the biggest varnish and paint Bulgarian producer.
1998
Reorganization of the product portfolio and its enlargement by new products destined to the new market segments.

Implementation of the Environment Management System.
1999
Launch of the brand SPOR. The company’s sales increased from 100 tons in 1998 to about 2,000 tons in 1999

The Bucharest Inspectorate for Environment Protection grants to Policolor the Environment Recommendation subsequently the investment of over USD 180 thousand in protection systems against environment pollution.

Launch of five more varnish and paint brands.

Policolor is granted the International IQNET certification for its Quality Management System.

Launch of the first image campaign of the brand Policolor and at the same time the first image campaign in the Romanian varnish and paint industry.

Launching nation-wide "Casa Culorilor" shops that offer, beside the classical products, a wide range of over 1000 shades of whasable paints, obtaind with specialized tiniting machines.

Policolor obtains the SRAC and IQNET certifications for the integrated system for quality-environment-safety and health.

Launchin DEKO PROFESSIONAL product range - dedicated to the professional construction market segment, which has in its portfolio DEKOTHERM- thermo insulation system , decorative plasters, paints etc.
